Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions before purchasing an American Pit Bull Terrier puppy.

  • Is it possible to get an American Pit Bull Terrier puppy from Dognik Bulls as a first dog?

Yes, we welcome first-time owners. Our pit bulls have stable personalities, and we've been nurturing our line for many years. There may be slight differences in each specific mating from different breeders, but we generally know what to expect from any given combination and will recommend a calmer, more thoughtful dog, or a more active one if you're confident you'll be pursuing a competitive sport with a pit bull. We consider it an advantage when owners have no experience, and we assist them with raising and training them from the ground up, providing sound knowledge of cynology, the breed, and our lines in general.

  • What's the difference between pit bull terriers from Dognik Bulls and those from other kennels?

Our breeding line initially focused on pure American bloodlines that perform well and show high results in training, sport, and shows. These dogs have proven themselves to be excellent family companions, including with children of all ages. We didn't take the risk of breeding with local bloodlines, where there are many non-purebred pit bulls, zero pedigrees—in other words, not pit bulls at all. From the very beginning of the kennel, we selected exceptional lines and worked with them. Now we have a typical stock, to which we periodically add suitable bloodlines from outside the kennel. All our dogs undergo medical examinations, have excellent temperaments, and are not man-eaters. We breed only the best males and females, selecting and monitoring the offspring throughout their lives. You won't find such bloodlines anywhere else in the CIS. In fact, some kennels representing this old pit bull family have abandoned breeding due to age, and these bloodlines are only available in America and here in Russia.

  • How to buy an American Pit Bull Terrier puppy from Dognik Bulls kennel?

We sell dogs to both novice and experienced dog breeders. The main criteria for us when deciding whether to sell a pit bull are: the buyer's suitability, the consent of all family members, and a clear vision of the puppy's purpose (in which case, we can recommend a specific breeding and even a specific puppy for the desired purpose). All buyers of our puppies are financially secure and can provide the dog with the necessary nutrition, at least basic training, and, in case of emergency, can afford the best veterinarians. However, if you are looking for a puppy for breeding, our requirements for potential buyers are higher and are discussed separately over the phone or in person.

  • How do I pick up my puppy if I'm from abroad?

Most of the American Pit Bull Terrier litters at Dognik Bulls are born in Spain and Latvia. You can come pick up your puppy at our kennel, meet the parents, and evaluate these high-quality dogs in person. We also partner with trusted pet carriers who deliver dogs to their homes as quickly as possible.

If you need to ship a puppy abroad, we have licensed carriers who deliver dogs to any country. You can also pick up your puppy in person.

  • How much walking and exercise does a pit bull need to be so obedient and well-behaved?

The key is quality walking, which doesn't always mean a lot of time. For example, a 15-20 minute walk with a fishing rod can replace a 90-minute walk. And command training, especially with endurance, in 2-3 sets of 10-20 minutes, can replace a long, long run.

On average, be prepared to walk a puppy three times a day, and an adult dog two to three times a day. The total daily walk should be at least two to three hours, or a shortened but active walk with pullers, a fishing rod, or balls.

You can discuss any questions you may have as your puppy grows with us, and we will always offer advice, guidance, and explanations, discussing each situation and case.

  • Which is better: a female or a male pitbullterrier?

It all depends on your preferences.

A few of our principles: for beginning dog owners, it's easier to work and live with a female dog. However, many of our new owners started with male dogs, which we selected from our breeding facility specifically for them, taking their needs into account.

We very rarely (almost never) sell American Pit Bull Terrier males to Pit Bull males or other large breed males. Yes, we have families with two of our male graduates. But we trust these families; they were trained under our supervision, and appropriate males were selected for them. In some of our families, males live with males of small breeds. We have numerous videos of these examples, and we'd be happy to show you. But in general, we adhere to the principle of not selling males to males.

Females from our lines are more gentle and docile. When purchasing a puppy, consider what kind of dog you want to live with for the next few years.

  • Will pitbull protect me and my family?

The American Pit Bull Terrier breed itself was not bred as a guard dog. They don't engage in conflict with humans, unlike service dogs and Rottweilers. However, we have certain combinations where males are successful guard dogs. Also, all of our kennel's graduates, trained for protection, perform exceptionally well in real-life situations; they have even prevented robberies, and once detained a maniac who was attacking women and men in Moscow before the police arrived. "Will I be able to handle a pit bull? I'm afraid the dog will be the head of the family?"

Our pit bull terrier lines are distinguished by their highly functional brains. They grasp information very quickly and process it just as quickly. If you follow the recommendations of the kennel director and your trainer (we often recommend proven dog trainers in every city and country who are familiar with our dogs, our lines, and the behavioral patterns of our pit bulls), you won't have any difficulties.

  • We live in a private house. Should the dog live indoors or in a kennel?

Pit Bull Terriers are a short-haired breed with no undercoat. Therefore, dogs are kept exclusively indoors. We do not sell puppies chained or for outdoor kennels.

  • I live in an apartment. Can I get a pit bull?

Yes. With a good outdoor area, a pit bull can only eat, sleep, and interact with you in the apartment. There are no barriers to acquiring an American Pit Bull Terrier puppy for your apartment.

  • Does the kennel currently have pitbull puppies for sale?

Yes, we currently have several pit bull puppies for sale at our American Pit Bull Terrier kennel. All puppies are dewormed, vaccinated according to age, and come with a microchip, European veterinary passport, and ADBA pedigree. Prices for pit bull puppies at our kennel start from 2,000 euros and up. Shipping is not included in the price of a pit bull puppy.
