Buying american pitbull terrier from kennel. The right Choice

My name is Veronika Voitovska and I am owner of american pitbull terrier kennel DOGNIK BULLS, located in Spain. I believe it's important to explain why buying a pitbullterrier puppy from a kennel is better than buying one from someone else, buying a pitbull without a pedigree, or buying from a breeders with their first litter.
A major advantage of our kennel is that we've been working since 2011 to produce stable american pitbull terriers with strong, resilient personalities. These dogs thrive with children of all ages, win shows and sporting competitions, and live healthy into old age. We maintain our own breeding line- Castlesline, from proven combinations of various bloodlines. Over the years, our Castlesline line of american pitbull terriers has established itself as a reliable breeder of mentally stable, robust, physically and emotionally strong pitbulls, healthy and resilient. Our american pitbull terriers live with our children, and our puppies go to homes with children of all ages. We've never had a pitbull from our kennel bite a child. Our pitbulls live with other dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and snakes. Of course, this is due to genetics, plus upbringing and training.
We occasionally add foundational American and, less commonly, European pitbull bloodlines to our Castlesline american pitbull terrier line. Even before founding our pitbullterrier kennel, we traveled extensively around the world and studied various american pitbull Terrier lines. We concluded that American-bred dogs are the most stable in personality, beautiful in appearance, and possess a distinct sense of excitement and drive. We studied the different types of american pitbull terriers, their stress tolerance, their flexibility in various situations, and how their psyche reacts to work, stress and pressure. We also researched which strains of american pitbull terriers excel in sports and are easier to train. After processing all this data and meeting a huge number of american pitbull terriers, we concluded that the pitbulls best suited our needs were dogs from American breeding lines—OFRN, Lonzo, Zebo, Red Alert, and others. These are the principles that underpin our own breeding of american pitbull terriers at Dognik Bulls kennel. Our kennel isn't just a "I have a female, you have a male—let's breed them" operation. We've imported our dogs from America, Brazil, Russia, and various parts of Europe. But we don't just buy pitbulls. We selected the very best american pitbull terriers suitable for our breeding program. Therefore, we know we produce good, healthy and well-behaved dogs.
Currently, all breedings of our american pitbull terriers produce a roughly uniform, typical litter. This is an indicator of consistency and quality. Some breedings may exhibit differences in adult weight and height, and sometimes we have more active breedings where the puppies are sold only for serious sport. Other breedings produce dogs with great drive and tenacity; these pitbull terriers are ideal for protection and applied training. However, overall, we produce a typical, uniform litter of high-quality pitbulls. When we are satisfied with the results of a mating, we repeat the same combination. For example, we bred several times our leading pitbull male Miller's Wild Storm aka Castle, imported from Florida, USA, to our female Hoff's Banshee, imported from Brazil. We've also produced several extraordinary dogs that now live throughout Europe, including in leading European kennels and with reputable breeders in Italy, Russia, and Ukraine.
Knowing our breeding lines and creating duplicate litters, we always know exactly what kind of american pitbull terriers we'll get. Therefore, we discuss with future owners of our pitbull puppies exactly what kind of dogs they'll receive. We show photos and videos of the parents, as well as photos and videos of grown puppies from these parents. We talk about these pitbulls' successes in shows, training, and sports. We also tell them the approximate adult size of each pitbull terrier from our Dognik Bulls kennel. We discuss every detail of their personality.
You won't find this kind of care, this kind of knowledge and understanding of pitbulls and their breeding lines from breeders or kennels where a puppy is forgotten immediately after it goes to its new home, where no one monitors the subsequent lives of these pitbull terriers. You also won't receive this kind of "service" from a breeder who's just had their first litter of american pitbull terrier puppies. Or even if it's their second litter of pitbull puppies. For such a breeder, their first or second litter is an adrenaline rush, a source of pride. They'll be delighted with the mother puppy and the puppies. But they won't have any real experience. Real experience understanding which puppy is best and how. Real experience raising and socializing well. But on social media, you can see these breeders selflessly sleeping on the floor with their puppies. You might even think that's how much they love their dog and puppies. And that's entirely possible, and it might be true. But raising a dog, understanding cynology, animal psychology, dog behavior, and all stages of socialization- that comes with extensive experience, with a huge amount of personal pitbull breeding, seminars, and real-life interaction with dogs and puppies. These breeders' puppies are also suitable for everything- sports, shows, training, and as pets. After all, these puppies are the very best for this breeder. But in reality, they simply don't understand why this brreding was done or what lines the dogs in the pedigree are from (sporting, working, show). Such a breeder has nothing to compare their first or second litter of puppies to, so they sincerely believe their american pitbull terrier puppies are the best. And they'll try to convince everyone of this. Don't be fooled by such rave reviews. Breeding should be done by someone with a medical or veterinary degree, and with the appropriate canine training. They should have all the necessary licenses and permits.
What does this mean for the buyer?
Indeed, both experienced breeders and novice breeders can sleep with the mother of the puppies and the puppies on the floor. It’s just that not all experienced breeders broadcast this on social networks. All this depends on how experienced the mother bitch is, how many puppies were born, and whether the mother bitch needs additional help caring for the puppies.
But my husband and I know full well that all puppies should be treated for protozoa starting at two weeks of age, followed by at least three deworming treatments (at intervals of several weeks). And I'm not lying when I tell you that new breeders are completely unaware of the existence of protozoa that are very dangerous for puppies, such as giardia, coccidia, and so on. We vaccinate our puppies according to European standards and provide every american pitbull terrier puppy owner with a vaccination schedule for the next year. A breeder with a first-time litter, at best, will give a single deworming treatment and the first comprehensive vaccination. So, imagine taking the puppy home, happy and content. Two weeks later, the whole family has worms, and the puppy has parvovirus enteritis and is dying. I tell real stories about people buying pitbull terrier puppies from amateur breeders or from breeders without pedigrees at all. Of course, an american pitbull terrier without a pedigree is a mongrel.
Very often, these amateur apbt breeders only keep the mother dog at home. The father of the puppies lives somewhere far away, with other people. For example, in a neighboring town. Or sometimes in a neighboring building, and they bred these dogs simply because they live nearby, not because they are compatible. Therefore, all they can tell you about the puppies' parents will be stories about the mother dog. Not about the puppies' father, not about the grandparents, not about the great-grandmothers, and so on. They will tell you personal stories from the mother dog's life, based on their subjective perception and interpretation. At most, they will tell you that they went to a mating with a male dog and that he is a good one. For example, they will say that he is large. They might even embellish the story of him being a champion. But they will not say "champion" and will not be able to show his certificates and diplomas. But they certainly won't tell you how the puppies' father behaves in everyday life, how he treats children, how he interacts with other dogs, whether he has any allergies, or any chronic illnesses. Hobby breeders won't know anything about these things. And if you're thinking that hobby breeders sell american pitbull terrier puppies cheaply, forget it. Prices for such "home-bred litters" across Europe range from 1,000 to 2,000 euros. I've personally seen these wildly inflated prices more than once. Keep in mind that puppies inherit a great deal from both their father and his ancestors in terms of genetics, inherited traits, and health.
An amateur breeder of american pitbull terriers won't be able to predict what the puppies will be like. They won't see their potential, won't know how to unlock it, and won't be able to tell you how to work with them. Simply because they haven't seen 100-200 puppies before.
An amateur breeder won't help you in the future. They won't tell you which local clubs to contact in your city or country. They won't help with your pitbull puppy's behavior as it grows. Unlike such breeders, our kennel consults with american pitbull terrier owners after the sale. We provide post-purchase consultations, handle real-life cases, and generally stay in touch. Our kennel has been our hobby for almost 20 years. Our pitbulls live with us, and they travel with us all over Europe. They are our life and a huge part of it.
So, when you're looking for a pitbull puppy, buy one from a kennel. You'll get a healthy, well-balanced american pitbull terrier puppy with all the necessary paperwork, consultations, and a large family of pitbulls around the world. Tell us about your puppy needs, and we'll find the perfect pitbull puppy for your family.
